Challenge
PA Media were commissioned to shoot an exclusive set of images of the ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway plane’ airside at Gatwick Airport before it departed for Florida. The images would be of Scarlett Moffatt and Stephen Mulhern interacting with the excited passengers onboard and were to be sent out to media immediately to tie in with the showbiz story ahead of the live show on Saturday.
Solution
With the shoot taking place airside the photographer had to bring their passport in order to gain access to the tarmac. The shoot took place onboard the Virgin Atlantic chartered flight so we assigned a photographer who has experience in these environments and knows what constraints they might face.
Results
The images needed to be approved swiftly in order to get them out on the PA News Wire as quickly as possible for the next day’s papers. The content appeared in print across three titles – Daily Record, Daily Star and Metro, as well as online sites such as Daily Mail, Daily Star and Irish News.
